The other tenses in French is Passé Composé.
This tense is used to express something that happened in the past.

• Le Passé Composé
Le Passé Composé is used to show something that happened in the past time. Example of passé compose using the word visiter (visit) :

1. (+) J’ai visité Bandung ( I visited Bandung )
(-) J’ai ne visité pas Bandung ( I didn’t visit Bandung )
(?) Est-que ce j’ai visité Bandung? ( Did I visit Bandung? )

2. (+) Tu as visité Bandung ( You visited Bandung )
(-) Tu as ne visité pas Bandung ( You didn’t visit Bandung )
(?) Est-que ce tu as visité Bandung? ( Did you visit Bandung? )

3. (+) Il a visité Bandung ( He visited Bandung )
(-) Il a ne visité pas Bandung ( He didn’t visit Bandung )
(?) Est-que ce il a visité Bandung ( Did he visit Bandung? )

4. (+) Elle a visité Bandung ( She visited Bandung )
(-) Elle a ne visité pas Bandung ( She didn’t visit Bandung )

Passé compose is used when :
1. Action Terminée ( something that happen and done in the past time )
Ils ont acheté leur maison en 1992
( They bought the house at 1992 )

2. Succession d’actions ( Activity in the past )
Les tourists ont visité le Louvre, ils sont montés à la tour Eiffel, puis ils sont promenés dans le quartier du Marais.
( The tourist visited Le Louvre, they went to Eifel, then they walked around Marais )
